Privacy Policy

Core Principle
Incogniq is designed to collect as little data as possible. We cannot read your messages. We don't want to. Our architecture makes it technically impossible.
This isn't marketing. This is how the system works.
What We DON'T Collect
- • Phone numbers
- • Email addresses (except for waitlist opt-in)
- • Names or usernames
- • Message content (encrypted client-side)
- • Persistent user profiles
- • Behavioral tracking data
- • Analytics fingerprints
- • Advertising identifiers
- • Social media connections
What We DO Collect
Minimal Technical Data:
- • IP addresses (temporarily, for connection routing)
- • Room PINs (ephemeral, destroyed after session)
- • WebRTC connection handshakes (stored ephemerally to connect peers)
- • Encrypted message payloads (only for Global Chat, auto-expire in 24 hours)
Why:
This data is necessary to route messages between participants. It's not used for tracking, profiling, or advertising.
Data Retention
Private Room Messages: Flow exclusively Peer-to-Peer (P2P) via WebRTC. They are NEVER stored on any server database, not even encrypted. Once the session ends, the memory is wiped.
Global Chat Messages: Stored encrypted temporarily. Automatically destroyed after 24 hours.
Room codes: Destroyed immediately after room termination.
IP addresses: Not logged persistently. Used only for active connection routing.
Encryption keys: Generated client-side. Never transmitted to servers. Never stored by us.
Government Requests
We operate under Indian jurisdiction. If we receive lawful government requests for data:
- • We cannot provide message content (we don't have access to it)
- • We cannot provide user identities (we don't collect them)
- • We may be required to provide IP addresses if logged
- • We will publish transparency reports when legally allowed
Our architecture is designed to minimize what we can be compelled to hand over.
Third Parties
Turso (Default): Database provider. Stores WebRTC connection handshakes temporarily. Subject to their privacy policy.
BYODM (Bring Your Own Database): If enabled, all WebRTC signals are routed completely through your own private database, bypassing our servers entirely.
Cloudflare (if used): CDN and DDoS protection. May see IP addresses and connection metadata.
We do not share data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies. Ever.
Your Rights
- • You can use Incogniq without providing any personal information
- • You can destroy rooms and messages at any time (panic destroy)
- • You can request deletion of waitlist email (if provided)
- • You can export... nothing, because we don't store your data
